With the model designation of “Patrol,” it would not be unreasonable to assume the Mossberg MVP Patrol rifle is intended for use by police officers. It’s easy enough to picture a rural sheriff’s deputy pulling one from his truck to dispatch a nuisance black bear or maybe take out a barricaded bad guy. Mossberg’s intent, however, was for its new “Patrol” rifle to be a general-utility firearm, equally suited to a variety of tasks.
